Statement on Covid-19 (Volunteering Programmes 2020)

In line with current travel recommendations from FCO, and the ongoing restrictions and recommendations from the UK Government and Chinese Governments regarding the Covid-19 (coronavirus) outbreak, we feel it would only be responsible of us to suspend our programmes for the 2020 Summer period.

Whilst we understand that this may cause disappointment to those who have already interviewed with LOVVOL, we have a responsibility to protect the wellbeing of all staff, volunteers and partners; as well as an obligation to follow the recommended courses of action including social distancing which is currently being implemented.

We greatly hope that the situation is changed by July 2020, however we cannot expect our volunteers or programme partners to continue to plan for a summer with such uncertain parameters. We apologise for any disappointment that this hiatus may cause, but we strongly feel that this is the best decision for all partners and volunteers.

For students who have already been accepted onto LOVVOL programmes for 2020, we would like to reassure you that your application will automatically be transferred to Summer 2021. We will be in touch later this year to confirm your interest and discuss your placement. Should you have any questions, please get in touch and our team would be happy to advise you.
